In other news, our mailman is being a right prick lately. We'd had a few incidents where some of our neighbor's mail was being put in our mailbox (we live in a duplex). So it stands to reason that some of our mail could have ended up in her mailbox, and let's just say she's not the honest type, so I wouldn't really assume that she'd tell us or return our mail. Given that my mom gets checks sent here, and I'm expecting my stimulus payment uh, yesterday, that's a little worrisome. So I called the post office about it, and the person in charge said she'd talk to him. The same day, he asked me if I'd called and got all defensive about it, saying it's our fault because our names aren't on the boxes (Um, it's a rental property, and "A" and "B" are pretty clearly printed on the boxes). And now he's being all surly. What does he think that's going to accomplish? If he keeps being an asshole, I'll just call again and complain about his nasty attitude.

But still...OMG VACATION YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

So I just had a sudden epiphany (I so misspelled that, right?) about why I dislike most pairings that are Peter or Claire with someone besides each other...it's because aside from a couple of pairings that I just find offensive, I just plain do not like the other characters that people usually pair Peter or Claire with.

Huh. Never really thought of it that way, but yeah, I guess that's what it is. Adam? Hate. Elle? HATE. Niki? Ugh, SO over her. Caitlin, West, Simone? Hated, hated, OMG HATED.

So there, it's not my fault. It's Kring's fault for writing characters that annoy me. :P

So I'm 99.5% sure I know who is responsible for the thing on fandom_secrets. And it's not, thankfully, someone on my flist. However, it does seem that it's someone who reads my journal. So I have a few things to say to that person.

So, looks like I didn't get that job I interviewed for. Oh well, their loss.

Back to the drawing board I guess. Sooner or later SOMETHING'S bound to come up, right?

Okay guys, this is big. I had an interview today for a job in Waltham. I feel like it went well, but who knows? I'm just really hoping it works out because A) I NEED A JOB! and B) this sounds like a REALLY good one. The pay is good, the benefits are excellent, the commute is easy...so naturally I'm a nervous wreck, but I'm trying to stay positive. Just...cross your fingers and think good thoughts? Pretty please?

I also have another interview tomorrow. That job doesn't sound as fantastic, but I'll take what I can get!

I seriously need an icon that has something to do with being insanely clumsy.

The last couple of days I was experiencing SEVERE pain in my foot, radiating down from just below my ankle. There were times when just taking a step was so painful that I wanted to cry, but I pushed through until I was able to get to the doctor this morning. Turns out I strained a bone in my foot. Which means that apparently I did something that put ALMOST enough pressure on the bone to break it.

Here's the hilarious part...I have NO idea what that might have been. Literally no fucking clue how I managed to do that much damage. Come on, how ME is that? Seriously, I cracked up when my doctor asked me how it might have happened and I couldn't even begin to guess.

So, no walking on the beach or swimming for at least a week. Limited physical activity. And I have to wear this neoprene sock thingy. But I'm just relieved I didn't break anything, since that would have seriously messed up my summer.

Okay, so rtwofan rocks for making me this pretty, pretty Paire header. And paynesgrey rocks for showing me how to set up a custom layout! (last_archangel also rocks for offering to help!)

I like the cheery colors and the pretty manip. Not too crazy about the ugly little icons in the sidebar and comments, but so far I don't see any way to change that to text links. Also can't figure out if there's a way to list tags in the sidebar, which was one thing I always liked about my old layout.

Now that I've got the layout looking gorgeous, all I need is some new GOOD paire smut. ;)

So I need one of the geniuses on my flist to tell me in SIMPLE terms (remember, you are talking to a blond here) how to do a custom layout. See, rtwofan made me a pretty header, but apparently couldn't be arsed to explain how to actually put it up. Damn kids these days, always leaving things half-done.

Goddammit I really need to read some GOOD new Paire smut...

Is there a comm out there for multi-pairings Heroes fic? If not, someone should really start one. I wouldn't be interested, but I know plenty of folks who would.

And on a VERY related note, I'm contemplating starting a comm that is for paire fic and paire fic ONLY. And I would actually enforce that rule.

So driving home today, I had this weird feeling that local radio stations are conspiring to depress me. No, seriously. First I heard "Jesse's Girl," which always makes me feel nostalgic. Sometimes it makes me smile, sometimes it makes me feel sad. Then immediately after that I heard "If You're Reading This" by Tim McGraw which just always makes me feel sad. THEN I heard "No Air" by Jordin Sparks and yeah, I know, cheesy pop song, but it still got to me and by that point I was ready to start bawling right there in my car.

It just...ugh, I don't know, it pisses me off when I feel like this. Because most of the time, I feel like I'm okay and I've moved on. But then something happens or something reminds me and I feel like for some reason the universe won't LET me move on and be okay, even though I WANT to move on. I don't want to feel like this and miss him but I swear sometimes I feel like he's here and that just rips me apart.

Does that even make any sense?
